- Post-Anesthesia Monitoring and Basic CareIn a PACU, the bed is intended to facilitate vital-sign monitoring, access to emergency equipment, and position adjustment while a patient recovers from general or regional anesthesia.
- Multi-Position AdjustmentPowered actuators can raise the back section and flex the leg section, helping the patient move between lying and sitting positions. Some higher-specification models also provide assisted-standing functions for standing practice.
- Assisted Rehabilitation TrainingSome beds integrate upper- and lower-limb trainers. A pulley-and-rope system may assist upper-limb flexion and extension, while a pedal mechanism can move the lower limbs passively to help reduce stiffness and deconditioning associated with prolonged bed rest.
